Frequently Asked Questions

  • At Whispering Willow, Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is a guided, experiential process that supports personal growth, self-awareness, and emotional strength—through meaningful interaction with our herd.  EAL is entirely ground-based. You don’t need any horse experience—just a willingness to show up as you are. With the quiet presence of horses and the safety of skilled facilitation, you’ll explore patterns, build confidence, and reconnect with your authentic self.

  • Please wear closed-toe shoes, and clothes that are suitable for the weather and that you don’t mind getting a bit of dirt and horse hair on!  Also, please dress appropriately for the weather.  While we do have a barn, we do much of our work surrounded by nature.

  • No horse experience is required.  All of our activities are done on the ground with a FEEL certified practitioner and horse partner(s).   You only need to be open and trusting to what they can teach you about yourself.

  • Currently we do not offer this as Sabine is not a registered therapist and does not offer therapy.

  • Yes. Sabine is a certified FEEL practitioner-one of the most intensive EAL programs currently available.  Whispering Willow is also insured and you will be required to complete a waiver upon your arrival.

  • We are not a riding program/facility.

  • Yes—EAL at Whispering Willow can be incredibly valuable for people who already have a horse. In fact, it can deepen the relationship they have with their horse by helping them better understand themselves, their communication style, and their emotional presence. Please check out more information in our Experiences Offered section.

  • We currently offer individual and small groups (up to 3 individuals). Please enquire for groups larger than 3.
